It's been a while since my last post. I really should get better about that. I have been on the road quite a bit lately...but then again isn't the inter-web all about being productive from anywhere/anytime? Ahem...sure.

So yesterday a bunch of us went out to lunch for a new "Waffle Wednesday" tradition. We went to a nearby Denny's which, as luck would have it, apparently is one of the last places in Wisconsin that people can go to and smoke indoors. I don't think I have ever been to a Denny's for lunch before...only taken part in lots of 3AM Grand Slams so I was not sure what to expect. Holy Cow. David Lynch would love this place. He may have even been there...not that I would have seen him through all the smoke though.

The waiter was all about flinching body movements and checking himself out in the stainless walls behind the counter. The decor was right out of the Brady Bunch. A chain smoking man sat right next to our group frantically pushing the fallen ashes off the notebook of scribbles that lay before him. A young couple having one last smoke together before they leave..separately.

Truman: You saw a giant?
Cooper: Yes.
Albert: Any relation to the dwarf?

Road Trip

So my family and I have a funeral in White Bear Lake, MN this weekend. I have never been there so I used uncle Google to look up 'white bear lake attractions'. I found a site that nicely listed out the attractions according to proximity and as an added bonus had user reviews. Nothing like starting your day by looking at a giant spoon with a cheery on top. I can look forward to my 3 year old asking 157 questions about why there is such a thing and if it will rust.

After a long day of looking at odd creations its off to the Village Inn for some good food and if you 'like young punks and fights', and really... who doesn't, this is the place to be. I wonder how the onion rings are?
